The Dual Portrait

In this book The Dual Portrait Featuring Rajasimha Pallava the author sheds light on the fact that the Pallava Monarch Rajasimha created a dual sculpture of himself at the Kanchi Kailasanathar temple. This discovery identified by author Dr. K. Dakshinamoorthy is the first of its kind in thirteen hundred years. The book confirms that King Rajasimha is depicted in a dual sculpture sitting at the entrance of Kanchi Kailasar Temple. This unique sculpture shows the king in a dual form looking at visitors making it difficult for anyone to easily recognise him. The sculpture follows a dual sculpture grammar similar to Ardhanariswar and Sankaranarayanan which are rare occurrences in history.
