Adapted from the author's novel The Duende: In the early 1960s the Partido del Pueblo (Communist Party) had a plan to launch a revolution seize the Panama Canal and oust the United States from its role in internal affairs. In addition to members of the revolutionary group which includes a rich bitter politician and his aide The Duende examines several unsuspecting characters who become privy to the plot: a widow her gigolo a model and a young American expatriate. Their lives become intertwined some of their problems are resolved others compounded and new ones created.
