<I>The Earth Moved</I> is a novel about an earth-altering event. An underwater nuclear test in China is of such a magnitude that the actual core of the earth is affected. All power and telephone connections fail worldwide.</p><P>Michael is a middle-aged lawyer living in Chappaqua N.Y. Alone his wife in Florida he and his neighbors Judy and Jim join forces in coping in a suburb without electricity or communications.</p><P>In Michael's home they reveal problems and insecurities about themselves never faced before. The neighbors' marriage problems surface and a new attraction begins between Michael and Judy. Two more couples join them and together they try to survive in a new environment. </p><P>Michael and his guests now face searing truths about their lives their pasts and their relationships as they face an uncertain future.</p>
