THE EDUCATION OF PANCASILA

Pancasila is the fundamental philosophy of the Indonesian state as stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution. Therefore every Indonesian citizen must study deepen appreciate and practice it in all areas of life. Pancasila was established as the basis of the Republic of Indonesia before it was ratified on August 18 1945 by PPKI. Its values have existed among the Indonesian people since ancient times even before the founding of the state in the form of traditional cultural and religious values. These values already existed were inherent and were practiced in everyday life as a way of life. Thus the Pancasila values are essentially the values of the Indonesian nation itself making the Indonesian nation the material cause of Pancasila.
