The Effect of Geotechnical and Technical Factors in Road of Basrah

Some roads in Basra Governorate suffer from catastrophic failure in the roads as cracks crashes subsidence and holes in the roads. Based on the urgent need to relate this issue to the daily life of citizens the impact of geotechnical and technical factors on performing Basra Governorate roads has been studied. Sixteen sites were selected in Basra Governorate which are West Qurna AlMedina Al-Dir Al-Hartha Shatt Al-Arab Al-Tuwaisa Hayy-Al-Hussein AlShuaiba Al-Maqal Al-Gazar Al-Ashar Abu-Al-Khaseeb Umm QasserPetrochemical Factory Al-Fao and Al-Zubair up to 3m depth to study the influence of factors Geotechnics on the roads. Six locations in Basra Governorate were also selected including Umm Qasser Al- Shuaiba Hayy-Al-Hussein Abu-Al-Khaseeb Al Zubair and Basra airport to study the effect of technical factors on roads.
