The Empowerment of My Condition is a chapbook of twenty poems describing how an autistic person became the man that he is today. Using the format of poetry the author reflects on his personal experiences in the concise manner of poems. Poem by poem in chronological order one reads David's struggles in childhood the help he receives to make his life easier and the challenges he faces to be social. Aided by therapy he feels success as he grows older through friendships sports traveling camping and education. The Empowerment of My Condition ends with what and who has inspired David to overcome the challenges of being on the spectrum.
