The entrepreneurial intention of Algerian students

About The Book

Entrepreneurial intent is a strong predictor of business creation. Indeed before any business is created there is an intention. This is what is meant by Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behaviour (1991). Given that very little research has been carried out on this subject as far as Algeria is concerned we have chosen to carry out this thesis on the entrepreneurial intention of Algerian higher education students. Algeria has a public higher education system of 106 universities and colleges. Since 2007 58 houses of entrepreneurship have been set up throughout the public higher education system. Also the NGO Injaz El Djezaïr is making a major effort to raise awareness and provide training for students in higher education institutions. As a result as part of this study on the entrepreneurial intentions of students in Algeria we have carried out a study among a group of 120 students from the Mohamed Boudiaf University of M'Sila. It appears that the number of students who plan to start a business on graduation or later is high (50.6%).
