Coastal management aims to understand the sum of economic social and environmental factors giving each one its due importance in order to achieve the best possible integrated management of coastal environments. Given that countless activities take place in these places it is necessary to analyse each situation specifically in order to understand precisely the various possibilities of the behaviour of the use and exploitation of coastal zones in each region. To this end this study analyses the emergence of bars on the shores of the beaches in the Greater Aracaju Expansion Zone in Sergipe which is a cultural and social activity that interacts with an environmental space of considerable complexity mainly because it is highly relevant to the environmental balance of coastal regions while also considering very specific biomes such as sandbanks and dune systems.
