The evolution of the concept of possession

The concept of possession is the result of a long evolution which began with the earliest societies and continues to this day. Its nature is very heterogeneous due to its components which originate from Roman Germanic and customary law among others. It is a process that continues to progress and change to such an extent that today we talk for example about possession of claims shares and other intangible assets. This complexity raises many questions about the role of possession in today's society. However in order to understand and gain an in-depth knowledge of the current concept of possession it is necessary to identify its origins and its long evolution over the centuries. To study the current concept of possession it is necessary to refer to human societies of the past and their subsequent evolution. This is in order to understand the role of possession in positive law which is also fundamental.
