The Evolution of the Gospel in the Bible

The Bible is one of the most important books of world literature. Its stories are the source for three major world religions--Judaism Christian and Islam. Ranging from history mythology poetry philosophy and theology it has shaped cultures societies and governments like no other collection of documents. Some of its authors claimed divine authority others did not; however the ancient rabbis and then Christian bishops declared their collections to be the word of God. Millions of Christian today believe it is the inspired word of God. But is it? Who wrote the documents it contains and why did they write to them? How were its authors trying to influence their readers? Upon careful examination the Bible reveals itself to be a very human collection of documents reflecting the beliefs and worldviews of ancient people.
