The experience of a woman

Women in contemporary society are still obsessed with effective emancipation to improve their human condition. From this perspective she is constantly proving her skills her strong will and her strong determination to evolve professionally and socially. William Boyd Margaret Drabble and Anita Brookner are very interested in this prototype of woman who evolves in the contemporary British society and claims a recognition. Their novels Brazzaville Beach Restless The Pure Gold Baby The Sea Lady Fraud and Hôtel du Lac in which the woman is at the center of everything appear as mirrors of current societies. Indeed this article analyzes the experiences of the main female characters in their stories which bear the mark of the major concerns and anxieties of women of their time.
