The Expression Of P53 Gene In Colorectal carcinoma By Real - Time PCR

About The Book

In this book a quantitative analysis of gene expression and its relationship with colorectal cancer was studied by real time-PCR. In the present study P53 gene expression levels are checked in both colon cancer cell line and corresponding normal cell line. This was done by first isolating total RNA and conversion into cDNA. Using this cDNA for Real Time PCR analysis was done. In result it was observed that there is a considerable decrease in P53 gene expression in colon cancer cell line when compared to the normal cell line. With the present work it is evident that mutations in P53 gene results in its higher expression leading to various types of cancer including colon cancer.
