The private eye that never sleepsIt is the late nineteenth century and a sum of $1 has been stolen from the railroad and a clerk named Maroney who has a penchant for the horses is prime suspect. After the railroad hires the South's best detectives to tail Maroney who find nothing they turn to the north and the man synonymous with detection: Allan Pinkerton himself the head of the world's first modern detective agency. Pinkerton virtually invented and formalized undercover detective work and has a large fleet of skilled operatives. He sends his best agent Porter to get to the truth.
