The third book in The Ferrymans Apprentice series.The only thing worse than doing nothing is doing something and achieving nothing.Back on the River there wasnt really any difference between the days. Wilom thought he was used to waiting and being patient. But in the real world when nothing changes it isnt constancy its stagnation. Wilom might hang back a little more than Vanda does but hes just as much of a meddler at heart. Doing so much work without actually changing anything is starting to make him itchy.The personal problems arent making this any easier either. Hes increasingly estranged from the ferryman and he knows its his fault. The Ferrymans Knowledge keeps getting in between him and the living humans too.
