The Films of Sherlock Holmes: 60 Years: 1931-1991

The Films of Sherlock Holmes is written as a follow-up to a book by the same authour (2015) entitled Sherlock Holmes: The Basil Rathbone Years & Other Films. While the Rathbone films and others are included in the new volume more than a dozen other films have been added. Thre are the films in date oder (1931-1992) along with complete cast lists director credits run times detailed plot synopses and numerous photographs many of which have never been seen previously. Forty-six films are included beginning with the 1931 Hound of the Baskervilles starring Robert Rendel and culminating with a special 40 minute film made for an ITV Marathon which includes four 10-minute segments with popular crime solvers (Sherlock Holmes Dutch detective Van Der Valk Scottish Taggart and Inspector Wexford).
