The Firing Squad

After years of living in an orphanage Cortney finally got the chance to leave. The problem was that in exchange for her adoption she would have to join the military and serve for the remainder of her life. The fact that her orphanage was going bankrupt wasn't the only thing that made her sign her life away though. A threat that made her fear for her life contributed. Now she found herself at the end of her training and at the beginning of her career as a member of the firing squad. She knew it would be hard to have this job but when something unexpected happens she finds herself with an impossible decision to make. Face the world she signed herself up for and lose something precious to her or run from it and quite possibly lose her life in the process...
