About The Book

Rutherford Hayes Platt Jr. (1852–1934) was an American attorney and writer who is known for his translation and publication of The First Book of Adam and Eve. The work is also sometimes referred to as The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan or simply The Conflict. The book is presented as a series of dialogues between Adam and Eve as well as with various angels and celestial beings. It contains additional details and elaborations on the biblical account focusing on the struggles faced by Adam and Eve as they navigate life outside of Eden and the deceptive schemes of Satan to lead them astray. The First Book of Adam and Eve is part of a larger body of ancient texts that expand on biblical narratives. These texts often provide insights into how certain themes and stories were interpreted and developed in different cultural and religious contexts. Its important to approach this text with an understanding of its historical and literary context. While it can offer an alternate perspective on the events of the Garden of Eden its not recognized as canonical scripture within mainstream Judaism or Christianity. The work reflects the perspectives of its authors and the cultural influences of its time.
