Joseph Alexander Altsheler (April 29 1862 - June 5 1919) was an American author of popular juvenile historical fiction.A reviewer's thoughts about the title:Simple and an interesting look into the pastI loved this book. Although written for a younger audience than I 50+ I found it very entertaining. And a look at how it very likely was when our country was forming. I found it easy to relate to the young men and situations they found themselves in. I know young men just like them.
