It is considered as a sacred tree of India and favourite tree of Lord Krishna. The plant is distributed worldwide in India Nepal Tailand Indonesia Africa Central America and Malaysia and native to south east Asia. The plant is recommended for cough ulcer wound uterine complaints urinary ailments diarrhoea dysentery antihepatotoxic antidiuretic antihelmintic antidiabetic and kidney stone. Even though studies were conducted on bark and leaves of N. Cadamba no attempt was carried out to explore the fruits of N. Cadamba. Hence this book is an earnest attempt to lighten the importance of N. Cadamba.
