The game as a way of teaching the fundamentals of handball

This work presents a methodological proposal for teaching and learning the specific skills of handball that can guarantee a greater possibility of enjoyment and participation for players. This requirement arises from my work as a teacher in higher education where I was able to see the need for changes in the methodologies applied to teaching the specific motor skills of handball as I realised that the rigour of teaching technique in a traditional way did not reach the students' understanding of the practice and theory of the specific skills in an enjoyable way. The development of handball teaching according to the proposition we advocate contains three distinct but interconnected moments: playful referential and technical.
