The Gift of Dread

Who am I? Why am I here? Does my life really have any meaning or purpose? These questions haunt us. They come to mind when bad things happen to us. But Is this all there is to life? also comes to mind when things are going well. Be thankful for these bothersome questions! They are a gift! Existential dread can only happen to human beings and a generalized angst about life can actually lead us directly to God. At least that's what some smart folks over the years have concluded.
