This book is a modern collection of 63 Shakespearean sonnets written by the poet that retell the story of the founding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) from 1820 to 1846. The sonnets are the poet's imaginings based on written texts and scriptures. They follow the Church's history from the First Vision and end with the expulsion of the Saints from Nauvoo. The sonnets attempt to capture the spirit of a time and people of devout faith and unwavering courage.
