The Gray Angels

The Gray Angels is set during the aftermath of World War I and focuses on the lives of women who served as nurses or in other auxiliary roles during the war often referred to as gray angels due to their uniforms and the compassionate care they provided to wounded soldiers. The story primarily follows a group of these women as they transition from the intense experiences of the war to peacetime life. Having been profoundly affected by the horrors they witnessed and the bonds they formed they find it difficult to return to the normalcy of civilian life. Each character struggles with their memories of the war and the challenge of finding purpose in a world that has dramatically changed.
