We think we are alone in our pain, our suffering, our struggles and our downfalls. We assume that no one else could possibly understand what we are going through or have been through. We hide our pain, our sadness, our anger, our innermost feelings and experiences because we feel that we are alone. Alone in our suffering. We are ashamed and so we hide behind fake smiles, forced strength and pretend acceptance.
But what if I told you that you are not alone? That there are women out there who are just like you? Who have been through what you have been through. Who have felt what you have felt. Women who could sit across from you, look you in the eyes, and actually see you and know what you have been through. Those women, they exist in this book.
They are women who have lost their spouse, the love of their life, and survived the grief even when they thought they would die themselves. They are women who have had to choose to stop the suffering of their own baby, and instead take on a lifetime of suffering themselves. They are women who have overcome homelessness, abuse and addiction, and have changed the course of their lives and now help others overcome the same. These women have overcome loss, mental illness, eating disorders, addictions, divorce, and cancer. These are women who have survived despite the odds against them. You are these women and these women are you.
