But in 2016 Ted Stroud faces several challenges to keep the family business running not least the competing gelato food truck that threatens to lure away a sizeable chunk of his customers. Through the severe heatwave that weighs down on Howell during the summer months the rivals' small-town battles escalate. <em>The Great Ice Cream War of Summer 2016 </em>is about not only the campaign Ted wages against his competition but the unwinnable war against constant change and the passage of time.</p><p></p><p>John A.
