This book explains the impact of education as an agent of change among the Turkana people of Kenya. The author argues that education influences the social cultural economical and political patterns of a given community. Using qualitative and quantitative analysis Dr. Lokapel discusses the socio-economic and political development of the Turkana. He observes that underdevelopment among the Turkana is largely as a result of lack of knowledge on self-development. He therefore suggests that the solution to this problem is to establish an institution of higher learning in Turkana County which will handle research matters relating to the growth and development of the Turkana people. This book is recommended to all Social Science scholars and anybody interested in development studies.
