The Hawk and the Eagle

As Boudicca leads the struggle against Roman oppression in Ancient Britain ordinary people are caught up in tumultuous events. Amidst the horror of war and rebellion a young Roman falls in love with an Icenian princess. Their stories are observed through the dispassionate eyes of the historian Tacitus and the discoveries of a young woman taking part in an archaeological excavation in modern-day Norfolk. While exploring the past she finds her own future and overcomes the tragedies of her past. Their separate experience though separated by 2000 years echoes and extends one anothers as if they were playing the same orchestral piece on slightly different instruments. It is the tale of four independent women and the chaos brought by greed and the lust for power. As the story unfolds Boudiccas mysterious disappearance from history is finally explained.
