Annie put down the journal and picked up a tissue. She wiped her eyes then blew her nose. The journal ended abruptly. She gazed at her mother's living room with a new outlook. The more Annie thought about it the more she was sure the gift Ollie has bought for her mother was never found. She knew it would have brought Ellie some happiness and Annie was confident Ellie would have told her if she had found it.There was a knock at the door and Annie stood up. Willy the man from the farm around the corner was standing outside and Scott was at his side. She had met them both earlier in the year when they had brought back her father's journal.
