Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil neither also is it in them to do good. Vain-Without real significance value or importance; baseless or worthless. Borne-To hold or remain firm under. Verse 3 says For the customs of people are vain. This verse means what people are doing have no real significance pointless. Also verse 5 says Thy must needs be borne. This is clearly referring to a Christmas tree stand.
