The historical importance of PED-PUC-SP is undeniable

About The Book

At the end of the 1960s universities supported by Opinion No. 977/65 of the Federal Council of Education (CFE) - which sanctioned the creation of postgraduate studies in Brazil - began the process of including postgraduate programs in their curricula. The Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) was among these institutions. The Graduate Program in Education: Psychology and Education (PED) was created in 1969 being the first to focus on the relationship between psychology and education. The history of the program reveals its importance to the scientific community due to the significant number of scientific publications produced by the program's faculty and students. Considering the relevance of this program to the national educational context this research emerged as a proposal to recover and record its history in order to better understand part of its contribution to the direction that education has been taking in the country.
