The Historical Journey of African Americans and the election of Obama

When the feet of African Americans hit American soil there were political freedoms that they did not possess African Americans were able to gain these freedoms after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1865 by President Abraham Lincoln; however African Americans were able to take part in the political arena for a short period of time only to have their freedoms taken away years later. The true research meaning of the historical journey is supported by documents approved by the graduate school at Southern University and A&M College located in Baton Rouge La in 2010.
