Herodotus also provides detailed accounts of the customs and traditions of the various peoples and cultures he encountered in his travels including the Egyptians Scythians and Babylonians. One of the most famous and important sections of the book is Herodotus account of the Battle of Marathon which he describes in vivid detail.
