About The Book

The Hollow Needle (1909) is a novel by Maurice Leblanc featuring the adventures of the gentleman thief Arsène Lupin. Arsene Lupin is a gentleman who “operates only in châteaux and salons” and “man of a thousand disguises: in turn a chauffeur detective bookmaker Russian physician Spanish bull-fighter commercial traveler robust youth and decrepit old man.” This master thief resembles Robin Hood in that he steals not for his own benefit but for the benefit of others. The urbane scoundrel is involved in a series of amusing shenanigans in this book. The stories are sequential in nature but they can also be enjoyed as stand-alone stories.
