The Hollow Tree and Deep Woods Book was first published in 1898 as a childrens book of short stories by Albert Bigelow Paine. They are charming stories about Mr Dog who battles with the residents of the Hollow Tree: Mr Coon Mr Possum and the Old Black Crow but in the end they become friends. This book has twenty-eight stories and comes with beautiful illustrations by J. M. Condé.
