The Hosts of the Air by Joseph A. Altsheler is a novel about a young man named John Scott who becomes a soldier during World War I. The story takes place in the trenches of the Western Front where John and his comrades face the constant danger of enemy attacks and bombardments. Despite the grim and dangerous conditions John is determined to do his duty and fight for his country.
