Beauty is a subject too often dismissed as merely a matter of opinion. This book asserts that on a Christian view this cannot be the case. A thoughtful discussion as between friends this short book proposes a definition of beauty that appeals to a Christian understanding of God. It further proposes a Narrative Evaluative Model that provides a common source of descriptive language a mutually acknowledged standard and a robust evaluative framework for discussing beauty in the creative arts. Employing this model will ensure that when discussing defending or questioning the beauty of a work of art the participants will have something real to argue about (Ch. 11).
