Idiot

About The Book

The Idiot tells the story of Prince Myshkin a man whose simplicity honesty and goodness set him apart from the corrupt and cynical world around him. Myshkin's naiveté and sincerity earn him the label of an idiot in society and he finds himself entangled in complex romantic and social dramas. The novel explores the tension between innocence and experience as well as themes of idealism madness and redemption. It is one of Dostoevsky's most humanistic and emotional works questioning the value of goodness in a world filled with evil.
