<p>Born among the fire seerrine that dwell in the heart of the earth Lucia has always been painfully aware that she is nothing like her people. Though she is the heir to the fire seal currently borne by her mother her iether marks remain completely dormant and no one will tell her what their unique appearance might mean. All of that changes one stormy night during their annual trip to the Arilo Manor her great-uncle's home and meeting place of the leaders of the four races when an accident in the manor's armory leads to a most extraordinary discovery.</p><p></p><p>As she watches the strange boy run into the dark she wonders about the iether marks she saw on his arm a perfect match to her own.
