This study became imperative in order to establish the actual image of Expatriate Characters in African Fiction. Prior to this study many readers and critics had created the impression that Expatriates were totally negatively portrayed in African Literature. This study however reveals that though Expatriate characters were negatively depicted in Anglophone and Francophone fiction the Anglophone novelists portrayed them more in positive perspective; as agent of charge. The target audience for this study includes students of African literature in tertiary institutions teachers of African Literature and critics.
