The book is a tribute to two brothers who lost their life in World War II and the first born son who later lost his life on a reconstructed Bomber while in the US Marine Corps. Olaf Lindquist: became ill a few months after being inducted into the army. After months in the hospital was discharged with battle fatigue even though he never saw battle. Died at home July 18-1948 of leukemia. A casualty of World War II. Steve Lindquist: lost his life on his 18th mission on the B24 bomber Queen of Hearts A letter written to his wife tells of his last moments on the bomber as they managed to get home to the base in England with him but he died on the way to the hospital. Surviving immigrant goes back again to her native land Land of the Midnight Sun her insights and story of life now in the land where the sun rarely sets and the winter is long.
