The impact of PDLC polymer film on window insulation

In the present work we are interested in the thermal study of a PDLC-type composite film pane. To do this we first set out to determine its characteristics based on the variation in temperature in both the inner and outer faces of a cube in the presence of a heat source. The results obtained show a significant improvement as well as a minimization of heat losses with the addition of an opaque PDLC plate next to the glass panes instead of doubling the thickness of the glass panes used so we deduce the crucial interest of these innovative materials.
