The Influence of Culture on Innovation and Performance Environments

About The Book

Innovation plays an important role in the process of change since it aims to adapt organizations to economic environments (READ 1996; MARTINS AND TERBLANCHE 2003). Creating an organizational culture that favors innovation is something complex since far beyond physical and financial resources it is necessary to make the people who make up the organization internalize this practice in their daily lives (SCARPIN 2012). Thus the organizational culture through the participation of these employees has favored the achievement of organizational goals and results (DENISON AND MISHRA 1995). In this sense the general objective of this study is to analyze the influence of the organizational culture on the internal and external environment of innovation and performance in an organization of the Textile sector. The textile and apparel industry is quite broad and is composed of several interrelated production stages. Basically four of them can be highlighted: spinning weaving finishing and confection (SEBRAE 2010). In the final stage the products can take the form of clothing household goods or industry (SEBRAE 2010).
