For many years science teaching has been mainly dedicated to the transmission of currently accepted knowledge with little emphasis on the actual procedures for constructing science (Silva et al 2009). Based on the construction of knowledge through play quality education can be achieved by meeting the interests and needs of children in elementary school together with the media. This work aims to analyze the different forms of influence of cartoons identifying Pokémon types with plant characteristics. The knowledge of students in the 7th year of elementary school II was assessed through a questionnaire in which it was observed that 80% of the students through the influence of the cartoon are able to distinguish and identify the relationship between the character and the real thing.
