The Institutes of Justinian

About The Book

This book refers the complete text of the book 'Institutes' of the Roman Emperor Justinian in an English translation. The book was written as a part of the Corpus Juris Civilis the written formalization of the rules of the Roman legal system. The 'Institutes' was thought as the 'starter' for the Roman students of law. It is clear and well-written in its form raising the uncomfortable question: Does the world and its jurists move forwards or backwards? The translation was made by J.B. Moyle to the 1913 edition of his book.
