The International Law of Armed Conflict

It is pretentious to suggest that law as a set of norms however binding can regulate the fury of arms in combat. The notions are diametrically opposed. Law is invisible intangible ordering and psychological and weapons are the most empirical concrete and chaotic. However this relationship between law and arms has taken shape since ancient times in the slogan cedant arma togae which has changed in intensity and meaning according to the times and the balance of power between belligerents. In the end the Law of Armed Conflict does not hinder military necessity and should not reasonably hinder it.
