It is considered to be an early example of modern dystopian fiction and has been argued that Jack London’s socialist views are in this novel.</p><p>It chronicles the rise of American oligarchy tyranny and the struggles of a socialist revolutionary movement. Much of the setting is in San Francisco Bay area.</p><p>Jack London was a prolific writer of novels short stories non-fiction autobiographical memoirs plays and more.
