The Island of Trees in the Sea of Grass

Sixteen-year-old Mary Scotford is an orphan who lives with her foster family the Adams. One night while struggling with all the emotions that accompany the recent loss of her father as well as the uncertainty surrounding her future Mary decides to take a walk with her dog Tippy. Soon Tippy races for a grove of trees surrounding a sinkhole and begins furiously barking. After Mary notices a pulsing greenish light emerging from the area she decides to investigate. As she is led to the sinkhole Mary is mesmerized by a ring of light that seems to be calling to her consciousness enfolding her in powerful compassion and inviting her into the sunlit world beyond the ring. After she bravely follows Tippy into the ring Mary enters a new world that will change her life forever as she transforms into Arbora the Healer.
