The various crises that have affected Cameroon have exacerbated the exposure of women and girls to gender-based violence threatening their security while hampering their access to basic services opportunities resources and their ability to realize their full potential build resilience and autonomy. The link between GBV and HIV is very close. Not only are women subjected to serious morbidity and mortality as a result of physical and sexual violence but violence also aggravates other health conditions including HIV transmission. Out of ignorance and hidden under the shadow of tradition women in rural areas are subjected to GBV perpetrated by men on a daily basis. Combating this type of violence means combating HIV and systematically reducing the chains of contamination. To achieve this we need to go beyond awareness-raising and involve traditional leaders and above all as the health promotion approach reminds us to give people more control over their own health and the means to improve it to interest them in female empowerment .
