The Last Journals of David Livingstone Volume II

The Last Journals of David Livingstone Volume II is a continuation of the first volume written by Horace Waller which is a collection of journal entries written by David Livingstone during his final expedition to Africa from 1866 to 1873. This second volume covers the period from June 28 1869 to Livingstones death on May 1 1873. The journal entries provide a detailed account of Livingstones travels through Africa his interactions with various African tribes and his observations on the natural environment and wildlife. One of the main themes of this volume is Livingstones continued commitment to his Christian faith and his desire to spread the Gospel in Africa. Despite his declining health and the many hardships he faced Livingstone remained determined to carry out his mission and often wrote about his efforts to establish relationships with local tribes and to use his medical knowledge to provide aid to the sick and suffering.
