<p>One hundred years after the emancipation of slaves American South was charming but segregated in High Point. The White world had their perks and the Blacks had their struggles. Johnnie Mae Dixon took responsibility as the matriarch of the Black community in the ward called Jericho. In the late fifties a bootleg war erupted. Sylvia Johnnie Mae's daughter was curious about what had happened. Johnnie Mae explained the real reason why the bootleg war started. This is the account Slyvia came to tell.</p><p></p>
